Dear friends and supporters of preserving the North Fork,
July was a busy month for us to say the least! Upon the heels of a fabulous, amazing, and historical 40th Annual Meeting, as well as the most epic Polebridge Bear Fair, Flathead County has put NFLUAC on the agenda for their planning meeting on Wednesday, August 10th at 6pm (in person or zoom). Attendance and/or comments to support the recommended text amendment from you all are essential to keeping the North Fork ecosystem intact. I’m passing on the details from our friend and NFLUAC Chair, Randy Kenyon, to encourage each and every one of you to participate in this process.

Wednesday August 10th is the North Fork Land Use Advisory Committee’s presentation of our revised text amendment to the planning board. Last June the planning board had issues and our proposal was tabled. Since then a sub committee has been revising the text amendment in conjunction with the planning office and a work session with the planning board. This product is significantly different and although we are confident, we need your support. This support consists of emailing (best option) or writing to the planning office (time sensitive), or showing up at the meeting in person or via zoom. Please encourage your friends and neighbors. Below I have listed the county email site they prefer; the date, time and location of the meeting, and the planning board zoom link. Please note we are 8th, last, on the agenda. If you have any questions or concerns please let me know!

8. FZTA-21-01 A request by the North Fork Land Use Advisory Committee to amend Section 3.40 (NF North Fork) of the Flathead County Zoning Regulations (FCZR). The proposed changes are extensive in nature and the request is considered to be a complete rewrite of Section 3.40 (NF North Fork). This item was tabled at the June 9, 2021 planning board meeting.
